About Us
Various Artists Limited (VAL) is a BAFTA, Emmy and RTS award-winning production company based in central London. Known for creating distinctive scripted drama and comedy, the company was co-founded in 2017 by producers Phil Clarke and Roberto Troni, and acclaimed writers and showrunners Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.
On our launch, VAL produced the BAFTA award-winning Julia Davis comedy Sally4Ever for Sky/HBO and two series of Dead Pixels for Channel 4. These were followed by the multi-award-winning I May Destroy You, written by and starring Michaela Coel, which became one of the most talked-about shows of 2020. Since then, VAL has produced Still Up for Apple TV, Henpocalypse for BBC2 and two series of the multi-award-winning comedies Juice (BBC3) from Mawaan Rizwaan and Such Brave Girls (BBC/Hulu) from Kat Sadler.
In 2026, we will be launching an original 8-part BBC drama series Two Weeks in August by Catherine Shepherd in association with ITV Studios and Adam Kay’s TV adaptation of his hugely successful books, Dexter Proctor Ten-Year-Old Doctor. We are also in production with several new series including Michaela Coel’s next venture - First Day on Earth, with A24 (HBO/BBC) - and Jessica Knappett’s comedy series Push for BBC1.
