About Us
Various Artists Limited (VAL) is a BAFTA, Emmy and RTS award-winning production company based in central London. Known for creating distinctive scripted drama and comedy, the company was co-founded in 2017 by producers Phil Clarke and Roberto Troni, and acclaimed writers and showrunners Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.
On our launch, VAL produced the BAFTA award-winning Julia Davis comedy Sally4Ever for Sky/HBO and two series of Dead Pixels for Channel 4. These were followed by the multi-award-winning I May Destroy You, written by and starring Michaela Coel, which became one of the most talked-about shows of 2020.
Since then, VAL has produced Henpocalypse for BBC2, Still Up for Apple TV, and two series of the award-winning comedies Juice (BBC3) and Such Brave Girls (Hulu). It is currently in production with the BBC drama Two Weeks In August, and a TV adaptation of Adam Kay’s forthcoming book, Dexter Proctor Ten-Year-Old Doctor.
More recently, BBC One has ordered the Jessica Knappett comedy series, Push, from VAL. The first commission from the BBC comedy sitcom project.
